St. John Paul II Classical School/Chesterton Academy seeks a Headmaster to lead Green Bay’s only Catholic Classical school to help lead our strong and growing school community. Our school strives to help parents form saints of the new millennium through the Catholic Classical tradition, seeking what is good, true, and beautiful.
Established in 2015, with its doors opening in fall 2016, St. John Paul II Classical School has grown steadily, adding one grade each year and has now attained the full spectrum of offering preschool through grade 12. Graduating its first eighth grade class in spring 2021, our school expanded in fall 2021 to ninth grade and officially launched the high school, named Chesterton Academy of St. John Paul II Classical School. Chesterton Schools Network is the basis of the high school curriculum, and we are excited for our first high school graduation and pilgrimage to Rome in the 2024-25 academic year.
Classical education always seeks what is good, true and beautiful, recognizing that God is truly at the center of everything. Knowing this reality, we model, cultivate, and teach those three transcendentals to our littlest ones in Montessori preschool through all ages and grade levels to our seniors, preparing students to continue in their personal and professional endeavors as servants of Christ in the world. We seek to accompany parents in the deep learning needed for children to flourish into the fully realized people God has created our students to be.
There is much to be excited about in this school, which was named by our own Bishop David L. Ricken after St. John Paul II, known for fearlessly and passionately proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ, invigorating young people, and ushering in the New Evangelization.
Our school is located within the vibrant Catholic community of Green Bay, WI, supported by parishes with rich traditional liturgies and near the only Vatican-approved Marian Apparition Site in the United States, The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion. Our school is part of the Green Bay Area Catholic Education (GRACE) School System, a nine-school system supported by 23 parishes. GRACE benefits from a design involving centralized key support services and resources (i.e., human resources, etc.) enabling our schools to focus on faith-filled teaching and learning.
