Building Our Future
SJPII/St. Philip Parish Gym Facility Project & Fundraising
St. John Paul II Classical School, in partnership with St. Philip Parish and the GRACE Catholic school system, are excited to announce our gym facility addition plan to our school building! We have been examining our the needs of the school and formulating a plan to upgrade facilities by the start of the 2025-26 academic year.
Permission Granted
We have received permission form Bishop Ricken to move forward with our campaign projects, both the school addition, and the air conditioning in church!
The Plan
- High school regulation sized basketball court/gym with locker rooms, foyer, and concessions area
- Additional classrooms of varying sizes on the lower level, first and second floors
- New library space on the second floor for Chesterton Academy
- Lower level auditorium for plays, music recitals, and other school gatherings (this may be phase 2)
- Lower level gathering space outside of the auditorium that can double as an additional lunch room space during the school day
The Diocese of Green Bay requires 80% of monies either received and or pledged before we can break ground on this project. Construction estimates are being sought from different firms in the area for the committee to consider but the estimated cost for the project will be around 9 million. Due to planning ahead in order to get on the construction schedule we need to reach our goal of 7.2 million (or greater) by December 1, 2024.
This may seem like a tall order to accomplish but the good news is we already have 4 million pledged for this project! An early, generous donor has graciously pledged this amount!
With God all things are possible but we must all do our part to help reach our goal. This new facility will ensure that Chesterton Academy of St. John Paul II Classical School will have the space it needs to grow and thrive well into the future.
Matching Grant Offered
We have been offered a matching grant from the Diocese of Green Bay Catholic Foundation of up to $200,000 for any new pledges received from now until September 2024. If you are interested in participating in the matching grant, we ask that you fill out a new pledge form and drop it off at the parish office.

Campaign Prayer
Your prayers for a successful campaign are important. Together, we lift up the following prayer:
Together let us pray…
God of light,
thank you for enlightening our path
that has led us to this day,
as we envision what our parish may become.
Thank you for the vision and the hope
that we can be to the world.
We ask that as we continue to plan for the future,
we hear clearly your voice coming through.
Enable us to continue to be a place that is welcoming…
a place that is full of your grace.
We ask you to abide with us during this campaign
that we may accomplish our expansion and renovation plans,
both for ourselves, our neighborhood, and the world at large.
In Christ’s name.
Amen.
